USE of OPAC

Uses of OPAC

The OPAC(Online Public Access Catalogue) is one of the most heavily used application of KOHA Library management software of a library. Besides listing of the entire books, journals, newspapers, e-books, etc, available in the library, it allows indicates status of a particular book. OPAC is searchable by author, title, accession number, subject and several other fields.

In the OPAC, library users/patrons will see a search box at the top of most pages.
To search, enter a word or multiple words in the search box. ... (e.g.: Subject, Author, Title etc.)
Koha will perform the search and return the results.
The order of the words does not affect the retrieval results.

In the OPAC, library users/patrons will look for the "Advanced Search" option on the top of most pages.
In the advanced search interface, you'll typically find multiple search fields or criteria, These might include options like Title, Author, Subject, ISBN, Publishers etc.
Input the specific details or keywords related to your search in the corresponding fields. You can combine multiple criteria to narrow down your search results.
Advanced search interface offer additional options to refine your search, such as limiting results by format, language, location, or availability.
Once you've entered your search criteria, click to the "Search" button or similar action to initiate the search process.
After submitting your search, Koha OPAC will display a list of results matching your criteria. You can browse through these results to find the item you're looking for.
Click on the title or item link to view more details about a specific item in the search results. This may include information such as availability, location, summary, description and related items
